The Centre was set up in 1993 with funding from Christian Aid. In 1998 it was granted full membership of the Development Education Association and charitable status followed in 2002. Major funding from the Department for International Development and the EU was obtained in 2001 for a three year project, ‘Passport to Change’.

Throughout the year there are many special International days. To see an excellent calendar of events go to the Global Dimension online calendar. The calendar lists international days and weeks, plus forthcoming global dimension courses and other events for teachers.

Here in Craven events are organised which highlight our place in the global world, for example a fairtrade banana producer visited Craven, and Skipton Girls High School hosted a Meet & Greet event.
