The Green Futures project, managed by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, will bring environmental opportunities for up to 4,000 young people, aged between 11 and 24 and living in the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding areas. Green Futures is part of Our Bright Future, and is one of 31 youth-led projects across the UK each receiving funding to give young people the skills and knowledge to improve their local environments. The aim is to ensure this generation’s voice is heard in the current debates around environmental improvements and a resource-efficient economy.
Craven DEC is working with secondary schools, using the Eco-Schools Award programme, to promote positive environmental change and practical action. Eco-teams will be supported on their Eco-Schools journey to achieve Bronze, Silver and Green Flag Eco-School status.

The Green Futures project team can also provide one off workshops or sessions on environmental and suitability issues, including outdoor practical session such as bug house building or Opal biodiversity surveys.
